NB Scholar's Workstation Help Files
For v.5.5, posted 23 March 2001 Below are downloadable text versions of the version 5.5 help files for Nota Bene's Scholar's WorkstationNBWin editor, Ibidem, and Orbis (no Lingua at this time). We've put them together in different packages so you can download only what you think you'll need. Just click on the package you want to begin the download. You'll need a program like WinZip or PKunzip to unpack the files once they're downloaded to your harddrive. Better yet, get PowerDesk, Mijenix's robust replacement for Microsoft's anemic Win95/98 file manager and do your unzipping, viewing, and managing from within one program. These files were converted from Windows Help (.hlp) format to text. The initial conversion simply concatenated all the separate hypertext "topics" into one long .rtf file. Images were still viewable within the .rtf document. In order to import the file into NBW though, all the images had to be removed and replaced by a textual marker (e.g., nbw01.bmp). That's why there are two packages for each variety of Help file, one with the text and images, the other with just the text. Unfortunately, until we figure out how to make the images viewable inside a NBW document, you'll have to view them separately using an image viewer (like QuickView Plus or the one bundled with PowerDesk). We would like to thank Anne Putnam at Nota Bene New York for cooperating with us so generously. If you have questions about the format or content of the files, contact Mary Bernard: she did the hard work of arranging them. If you have questions about or problems with the download, contact Rick Penticoff.
